Facial Expression Analysis
As humans, we express emotion in many different forms from facial expressions through to body language. The face in particular displays a full range of expressions which can be linked to emotions including sadness, surprise and joy. This is where Facial Expression Analysis comes in.
How Do We Detect Emotion?
During a typical session, we record a user through a journey on your website. Our Biometric Lab software is then able to identify 34 facial landmarks, marking XY coordinates of each one. For example this can be the corners of the mouth, the tip of the chin, corners of the lip and many more. Complex machine learning techniques measures data from these points and converts this into facial expressions.
Map Facial Expressions To Emotions
We are able to identify up to 20 facial expressions through machine learning techniques which we can then map to 7 emotions which are Anger, Contempt, Disgust, Fear, Joy, Sadness and Surprise.
